Police will not charge the fiancee of late Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry in connection with his death last month. Authorities announced there is no evidence Loleini Tonga drove recklessly at the time.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed virtually all of the 2008 season with a knee injury. But the 2007 league MVP came back strong a year later, passing for 28 touchdowns, and won the AP Comeback Player of the Year award. 

Linebacker Brian Cushing of the Houston Texans was named the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year on Tuesday, easily beating out Buffalo's Jairus Byrd.

Under questioning from Congress, a doctor who used to lead the NFL's concussion committee stuck to his position that there is no proven connection between football head injuries and brain disease.

The Bills told their entire coaching staff Monday to start looking elsewhere for jobs. Buffalo completed a 6-10 season with a win over the Colts Sunday. Washington fired head coach Jim Zorn, one day after the Redskins finished at 4-12.

Dallas beat Philadelphia Sunday, 24-0. The two teams meet again in the playoffs. Baltimore won the AFC wild-card berth and will face the Patriots in the playoffs. Jets top Bengals for the other AFC wild-card spot.

An NFL official told the AP the team plans to fire coach Jim Zorn Monday. The move has been expected for months. Zorn's team has had trouble scoring points, and finished the year 4-12 with a loss Sunday to the Chargers.
